The company’s founder, Gail
Courneyea, a critical care registered nurse and flight nurse for more than
twenty five years, oversees the visionary and organizational operations of
the company along with building of teams and company expansion. She was
awarded a Women of Distinction Award (1993) for community contributions,
recognized in business with Women in Business Award (2003), Spirit Ward,
Women Entrepreneur Canada- WEC(2003) , and several nominations for the
Rotman Award – University of Toronto (2003).
She has coordinated
thousands of international medical transport, facilitator for education
programs, and consulted on several projects and lead the company through
the implementation of International Standards for Quality in 2003 – ISO
9001-2000 – the only medical transfer /ambulance company globally to
achieve these standards.
For seventeen years, her passionate belief in
the provision of quality service has provided the foundation for company’s
growth in a rapidly growing and diverse field of healthcare. |

William Lorne Mitchell
Coordinator of International and Specialty
Projects |

As the Coordinator of International and Specialty
Projects, he has worked to develop new programs within the Corporation
which expand and diversify the air rescue and ambulance services of both
here and abroad. He has provided visionary and leadership assistance in
the creation of new education and training programs and projects in this
field.
William L. Mitchell oversees the company’s business in the
development of new business and capital ventures both nationally and
internationally. His diverse education includes public/municipal
administration and law, advanced parliamentary procedure, health and
safety and accounting.
Mr. Mitchell has more than
two decades of experience in municipal government in senior management
positions. Among his accomplishments, Mr. Mitchell held the lead role in
major restructuring of ambulance service, assuring compliance with all
mandatory regulations, staffing, vehicle requirements along with the
implementation of civic addressing and grid of a “911” consolidated call
program resulting in digitalized mapping to reduce ambulance response
times. Prior to this, Mr. Mitchell held a position of manager of an
airport providing an important link in air ambulance services in Northern
Ontario Canada. During his tenure in these capacities Mr. Mitchell worked
to develop and implement policies and programs which promoted excellence
in personnel, service and solutions. With his experience working with
senior politicians and others to create and implement policies which
enhance levels of public and private service program delivery, Mr.
Mitchell will continue in the development of new opportunities for Angels
of Flight Canada Inc. |

R. Elaine Hartwell

V.P. Education and Training |

Exodus Academy of Air
Medical Studies, a division of Angels of Flight Canada, oversees the
development, implementation and evaluation of specialty training programs
for emergency and non-emergency air and land ambulance including patient
care, infection control, and airline safety.
Ms. Hartwell’s training as
both an emergency room nurse and an air ambulance flight nurse gives her
the critical nursing skills and experience to provide visionary and
organizational leadership for the domestic and international projects in
air and land rescue programs.
In addition to her position with
Angels of Flight Canada Inc, she attends conferences and workshops on
flight safety, security and emergency medical care. |
